Transformation and innovation

We can’t afford to stand still if we are to do our best for people in Leeds who need support. Our transformation and innovation team has an eye to the future so that we can embrace new ideas to improve delivery and outcomes in Adults and Health.

In transformation and innovation we provide a support function across Adults and Health, delivering a range of activity to improve efficiency and effectiveness. We help to redesign services, maximise the use of digital technology and drive innovation.

We also lead on the delivery and development of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) in partnership with third sector partners. This neighbourhood-based approach harnesses the strengths and capacity of the people who know best what change will benefit their communities – the residents themselves. ABCD is a key strategic programme for the council, embedding strength and asset based working in adult social care and the wider organisation.

Our team needs dynamic team players who are motivated to improve outcomes for local people and can work collaboratively and flexibly. Roles include:

  • Programme Manager: leads a portfolio of transformation and improvement programmes across Adults and Health to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness
  • Project Manager: manages complex projects that support strategic priorities and efficiency gains, involving project initiation, scoping, planning and implementation
  • Project Leader: leads on planning and implementation of key service change and improvement projects

Our colleagues say:

Verity, Asset Based Community Development Manager

“Our team has a positive can-do attitude, using innovation to make service transformation happen. Working closely with stakeholders and partners in the third sector we empower locally led action and systemic change across communities. I’m proud to work for a forward thinking council with strong leadership that believes in and fosters the potential of their staff…we really walk our talk!”

Adele, Project Leader, Service Transformation

“A colleague suggested I apply to this team because it’s supportive and the work is varied and interesting. That all turned out to be true! I’m proud to work for an organisation that cares about people, the wellbeing of its staff, the people of Leeds and its celebration of diversity. I love the programme I’m working on and it’s great to know that the impact of what I do now will be felt by the citizens of Leeds.”
